Lunch at Matt's El Rancho after a t-ball game. Those eyes! Those cheeks! Those lips!

Easter, Part 1

Thought I better write about Easter while we're still in April.  At least I'll get Part 1 done...

On Friday we dyed eggs and the hunted them in the front yard.

We headed to Frelsburg on Saturday for the annual Elliott-Trahan Easter picnic. Lots of good food (including Peeps-ka-bobs!) and visiting.

And of course a fun egg hunt. We even did a big group egg toss this year, but we used cascarones. It was really fun! Spencer and I made it through about 3 rounds before our confetti went flying.

More Easter festivities to follow in a day or two...

It might just be in a neighbor's yard while we were out scootering, but hey, it's a bluebonnet photo.

2013-2014 Iguanodons

This is just a picture-of-a-picture so not the greatest quality, but how cute are these little Iguanodons? (Click to enlarge.)

Nature's Way ends early (May 8!), so I'm really starting to cherish each pick-up or drop-off. It's been such a magical place for our preschooler. Love love love it and going to miss miss miss it!

Best $8 We've Spent in Awhile

One of the things I love the most about Nature's Way Preschool is how it fosters curiosity and a love of learning. Last week the teachers gave the kids an old jambox and a bunch of tools. They've been spending some time each day taking it apart, smashing it and just seeing out what's inside.

Last Saturday after his t-ball game, Spencer asked if we had any old electronics he could "demolition." We didn't, but for $8 at Goodwill we brought home an old VCR and let him go to town.

This activity was fun for all of us. Paw-Paw was here and he told us about the circuits and such. We want to find an old rotary phone next!
