Time to Baby-Proof

Time to Baby-Proof from Susan Rives Horridge on Vimeo.

Spencer has taken the "commando crawl" to a new level. Official up-on-all-fours crawling must be right around the corner. Guess what we're doing this weekend?

New Photos, Wedding, Easter, Cereal, Pears

Dave took some beautiful shots of Spencer on his half birthday last week. Here's a preview, but you'll have to come over if you want to see all of the bare booty shots. Check out the April photo album for all the latest pictures.

Even though Pop and Geep were ready to perform a full evening of babysitting duties, we decided at the last minute to take Spencer to Steve and Natasha's wedding last Saturday. After the ceremony, Dave brought Spencer home and then returned for the reception. We all went to church on Easter Sunday, followed by brunch at The Woodland. We didn't coordinate Spencer's feedings very well, and he got a little grumpy by the end of brunch. But he really was such a champ during so many new experiences!

We introduced rice cereal this week (even though I've been torn on whether that was the right move...too much info out there!), and this morning I made fresh pear puree. Thumbs up on the cereal, thumbs down on the pears. I think the pears were a little too flavorful for Spencer's delicate palate! We will try again though. We have great video of the pear feeding, but our video camera didn't come with a cable to download the videos (what?!?). We'll get a bunch of stuff posted soon.

6 Months Old, Tooth, Banana

Spencer turned 6 months old yesterday. To celebrate his half-birthday, we let him try solid food for the first time. We weren't really following a time-table on introducing food; we decided to watch Spencer for cues that he was ready. Tooth? Check. Sitting up by himself? Check. Sitting in a high chair? Check. Taking interest in and grabbing at our food? Check. So after careful consideration, we went with an organic banana for the entree. He seemed to like it. We took video of the momentous occasion too, and I'll try to post that soon.

Here's a close-up of the famous tooth (click to enlarge):

Last weekend we went to Pine Fork with Geep and Pop and also had brunch and visited the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center with friends from Houston. Check out the April photo album for lots of new pictures.

Big Boy Stroller - Holla!

We finally pulled the trigger on a BOB Revolution stroller. It is awesome! All part of our "be a fit family" plan.

I updated the March photo album for the last time and added an album for April. Here's a preview:
