Been awhile since I've posted anything so I'll do a quick recap of a few things.
We finally bit the bullet and bought a new (used) vehicle. The ole' Saturn VUE was on its last legs and we didn't want to put any money into it to fix a couple of problems. Just had to get one last picture with Spencer's first car. You know me, I was feeling sentimental since it's the car we brought him home from the hospital in and all the jazz.
Two days after we bought the car, Spencer and I got to take it to Angleton. Since we both had Presidents Day off, we headed out Friday night after soccer and stayed until Sunday evening. We didn't arrive until 9:45PM so the boy was asleep when we got there. But he insisted that he needed to "sit on the couch and visit with Paw-Paw for a few minutes." We woke up bright and early Saturday and checked out the Brazosport Museum of Natural Sciences, which is a neat little museum that I had completely forgotten about. I used to go there when I was a little girl and loved looking at the rocks, minerals and seashells.
After that Paw-Paw suggested we hit the Sea Center in Lake Jackson - we always enjoy going there.
Then we ate some yummy fried shrimp at Rudy Roo's. I was cracking up because I had pulled the tails off Spencer's shrimp so he didn't have to deal with them, and at the end he was making me dig out the remaining pieces of meat from the tails. No DNA test needed to know that's my son!
My cousin Allen's daughter, Bethany, was having a birthday party at a gym that afternoon and she was nice enough to invite Spencer when they found out we'd be in town. It was such a fun place to have a party - there was gymnastics stuff, a trampoline, rock wall, bounce house, ping pong, air hockey and more. Aunt Renee went with us and we got to visit with Aunt Sandra, Uncle Bubba, Allen, Sarah, Jennifer and all of their kids.
On Sunday we visited my cousin Pam and her family. It was a great family-filled weekend!

Quotable Quotes
Just a few quotes and things I've jotted down lately that I want to remember.
- "Daddy, when can we go to the moon? Maybe February?"
- "Wow, this sure has a lot of constructions!" Referring to the instruction manual on a new Lego kit.
- After asking me to fry an egg for him one morning, he asked if I was going to cook it in a "skittle."
- After walking around Town Lake last weekend, he asked if we could lie down in the grass because it was "a good day for cloud gazing."
- "God won't like that. Or Britt (nature school teacher)." Expressing his concern after Daddy smashed a bug.
- One morning we were talking about Grannie and I said I really miss her and I wish she was still here. He said, "I bet she'd REALLY freak out if she saw how big I'm getting!"
- On the way to school this week, we were listening to a recording of one of my recent band concerts. "Mommy, are you really playing on this CD? That's impressive!"
- A prayer for the ages before dinner one night: "Thank you for this food and thank you for this lovely family and I love peas SO MUCH!"
- Watching a football playoff game, he kept calling the Seahawks the "Sea Hogs" and "Sea Ravens."
- Upon opening Daddy's wallet and pulling out his driver's license, he said with a grin, "Who's this old man?"

Pebble Beach Time
Pop took Daddy on a trip of lifetime to play golf in Pebble Beach last month. I wish I had shot video of when he got home and Spencer ran outside to greet him. Beyond adorable. But here's a little footage of Spencer opening his Pebble Beach souvenirs.
And a sweet lil' picture of my boys sporting their new caps.
We spent some time with Paw-Paw while Daddy was gone, both in Austin and Angleton.
Another fun golf update soon...

Father's Day Recap
We spent Father's Day weekend at Pine Fork with Pop and Geep. And as an added bonus, Paw-Paw met us at the ranch Sunday morning then drove back to Austin and spent the night with us. We gave Pop an inflatable swimming pool, so there was lots of splashing around to keep cool, in addition to all the usual activities. It was Paw-Paw's first time at the ranch, so Spencer was excited to show him around on the EZ-Tractor (and point out the Toothache tree), show him how good he can cast his fishing pole, and play in the sandbox together. We had a nice weekend and loved celebrating the wonderful fathers in our lives!
