Life's a Beach (Long Post!)

We took a mini vacation to South Padre last week with our good friends the Buchanans. We had a total blast and wished we could've stayed another day. Spencer had so much fun with the big boys - watching the three of them together is the cutest thing ever.


After the long drive, Spencer got really excited as we were crossing over to the island.

We spent lots of time sitting in the surf digging in the sand for seashells...

And just running and splashing and having a blast (despite the gale force winds that you can hear in the video above).


We also went on a dolphin watching cruise and actually saw several dolphins.


The crew dragged a net behind the boat for a little while and then dumped the catch into a big ice chest for everyone to see. The only part of the sea adventure Spencer did not like was when the captain pretended like a butterfly ray bit him when he reached down to pull it out of the ice chest. But he made up for it by letting Spencer steer the boat.

A big shout-out goes to Steve White (a.k.a. "Whitey") for letting us stay at his house! Can't wait to go again.
